As we begin a new year, at MRS Electronic, Inc., it’s important to reflect on the remarkable accomplishments made so far with respect to advancing competencies, developing new solutions, and pushing performance boundaries. As we move forward into 2017 we are witnessing the culmination of many of our efforts that we put into several innovation projects last year.
In the coming weeks, you will experience the market launch of the first Connected Platform products: The Connected Gateway. This product has been in development for quite some time and is finally hitting the production line early this quarter. There have been various progress updates leading up to this point which you can find here:
As part of a complete system solution this first version of the Connected Gateway will feature a Bluetooth interface in combination with a CAN bus and LIN interface as well as a corresponding mobile app. Later models we will be adding WiFi and GSM capabilities.
But this is just the first part of our news story. Let’s move on to another exciting new member of our Connected Platform products that has made many strides to this point in time. It is with great enthusiasm that we are announcing our new Connected Display System entering its field testing phase with select key accounts . As part of that we are about to ship several technically different prototypes to a vehicle OEM we have partnered with to incorporate and test our prototypes in their systems. Our broad connected display platform includes touch and non-touch versions as well as external button/dial interface options. While a small group of customers will be testing various display combinations our engineering team will continue to qualify all available configurations and screen options in-house.
In parallel we are creating an instructional series for key technology partners to support integration and even develop their own custom versions of our Connected Gateway app for iOS devices. When finished this will help them better understand app features and how to make it best meet their unique application needs.
Finally, an in-house project that will be made available to the public in the near future is our next generation graphical programming tool which is in its last development stages before undergoing intensive user testing. Eventually, it will replace the graphical programing solution that currently powers our MRS Developers Studio. By creating this new solution we are envisioning to offer a standard product for downloadable purchase in our web shop by the end of the year. A physical drive version should be ready for rollout in the 2nd quarter.
